The parking lot fronting Kalama Park in Kihei will be closed for more than 10 weeks starting Monday for improvements.

The closure will be in effect until Nov. 30, the Maui County Department of Parks and Recreation said.

A $372,697 contract has been awarded to Maui Master Builders Inc. to resurface the parking lot, replace asphalt curbing, install speed tables, construct accessible walkways, stripe parking stalls and accessible paths and replace signs. Under a separate contract for $4,738, Maui Electric Co. will install five streetlights to serve the parking lot.
