TONIGHT'S MIGHT-SEE

"Samurai Girl," 8 p.m., ABC Family; concludes Sunday. In Friday's opener, a modern beauty named Heaven (Jamie Chung) was reluctantly marrying to please her father. Then warriors descended, killing her brother; and she barely escaped.

Now she must learn her role in an ancient prophecy. She also learns to fight with the help of Jake (Brendan Fehr).

In the second hour, Jake gets surprise news from his former girlfriend. She's played by Stacy Keibler, of "Dancing With the Stars" and wrestling fame.

TODAY'S MIGHT-SEE

"Imagination Movers" debut, 10 a.m., Disney Channel. A New Orleans rock band, popular with kids, launches a daily, national show.

The music is solid, the humor is so-so and Wendy Calio is a likable co-star. This show has a neatly offbeat feel, in the "Pee-Wee's Playhouse" mode.

OF NOTE

Sports overload. The day is filled with football, tennis and golf. ABC has NASCAR at 1:30 p.m.; CBS has starting at 6 a.m.with the women's finals of the U.S. Open at 2.

"The Color Purple" (1985), 2:30 p.m., WE; and "Saving Private Ryan" (1998), 5 p.m., TNT. Here's a reminder that Steven Spielberg is a brilliant director. These films are opposites in most ways — one female and one male, one black and one white. Still, both have the brilliant visuals and rich character touches of a master.

"Flight 93" (2006), 5-7 p.m., A&E. This well-made film was nominated for six Emmys, including best movie. It relates passengers' efforts on Sept. 11, 2001, to keep terrorists from reaching a target.

"The Locator" debut, 6 and 6:30 p.m., WE. This show follows Troy Dunn, a real-life guy who finds long-lost loved ones. That brings some good moments in the first episode because the brothers — stocky, tattooed guys, separated when one was a toddler — are quiet sorts whose emotions ring true.

"Saturday Night Live," 10:29 p.m., NBC. This terrific rerun has strong work from guest host Tina Fey and from musical guest Carrie Underwood.
