Bones found at Iroquois Point in 'Ewa Beach yesterday and last week have been determined to be human, the state Historic Preservation Division reported today.

The agency has not yet determined the ethnicity or age of the bones, nor is it known whether the two sets of remains are related.

SHPD said both finds consisted of fragments including some large pieces.

The Department of Land and Natural Resources, which oversees SHPD, said anyone who finds bones should contact DLNR's Division of Conservation and Resources Enforcement Division at 643-3567, SHPD at 692-8015, or local police.

Remains determined to be 50 years or older are under the jurisdiction of SHPD. Those determined to be more recent are handled by the city medical examiner's office.
