Foodland Super Market Ltd. has kicked off its annual charity event, Give Aloha, in which customers can make tax-deductible donations to local nonprofit organizations at any Foodland or Sack N Save store.

Under the program, customers can donate up to $249 to any of nearly 600 participating Hawai'i nonprofit organizations when buying groceries through the end of the month. Foodland will match total contributions up to $300,000.

Since the program began in 1999, it has raised about $10.8 million for nonprofits and organizations with a sponsoring 501(c)(3) entity, including schools, churches and athletic teams.
