Weather: Mostly sunny and warm today

The trade winds will prevail but will remain on the weaker side through early Saturday, the National Weather Service said.

A dry and stable air mass will remain in place over the islands, forecasters said.

Lighter trades will allow afternoon clouds and possibly an isolated shower to develop over leeward areas the next couple of days.

The trade winds are expected to rebuild over the weekend and into the early part of next week.

Here's how the next few days look:

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 87. East wind between 8 and 13 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.

Tonight: Isolated showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. East wind between 8 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 86. North wind 9 to 11 mph becoming south. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday Night: Scattered showers before midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 70. East wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Saturday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 87. East wind between 8 and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday Night: Scattered showers, mainly before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. East wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
