Prosecutors yesterday charged a 26-year-old man with allegedly striking another man in the head with a 46-ounce can of pineapple juice during a Halloween party last year.

Jacob AhToon Delmundo-Faagai of a Hoaha Street address in Wai'anae was charged with second-degree assault and is being held overnight at the main police station cellblock in lieu of $35,000 bail pending his initial appearance tomorrow at District Court.

Delmundo-Faagai, who has two criminal convictions, is 6-feet-1 and weighs 270 pounds, according to Hawai'i Criminal Justice Data Center records.

He is accused of assaulting a man, 19, who was trying to break up an argument between two other men at a party last Oct. 28. The victim was knocked unconscious and suffered a fractured jaw.

Delmundo-Faagai was identified recently by Kapolei-Wai'anae District Crime Reduction Unit officers and surrendered to police at the Kapolei station Tuesday.
