Pa'ia's Beth Arnoult may have retired after her quest to medal at the Paralympics last month ended in the bronze-medal wheelchair tennis match, but her fans can now purchase the shirts her supporters wore in Beijing.

The "Beth Arnoult Paralympic 2008 T-shirt," with Arnoult's likeness hitting an overhead and the Paralympic logo, is available at tshirthub.com/bearpa20sh.html. The owner of the company will donate half the proceeds to Paralympics.

Different T-shirt and sweatshirt styles are available as well as coffee mugs.

MILILANI'S SAWICKI WINS ENDURANCE EVENT

Mililani's Pua Sawicki won the women's division last weekend in the final USA Cycling Ultra Endurance Series event of 2008.

The race was in Davidson, N.C., and competitors completed as many laps as they could in eight hours.

Sawicki won four of the five races she entered in the series this year. This is her third national series championship and sixth national title in her four years of professional racing.

GYMNASTICS

VERCRUYSSEN TAKES GOLD, SILVER AT EVENT

Trampoline gymnast Nani Vercruyssen of Honolulu placed first in synchronized trampoline (with partner Alaina Williams) and placed second to Williams in the individual event at the Stars and Stripes Cup last weekend in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Vercruyssen's performance earned her a spot on the U.S. senior team at the Pan American Championships in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in December.

CRICKET

HAWAI'I PREMIER LEAGUE SETS MATCHES

The Hawai'i Premier League will launch its first 20/20 cricket competition on Sunday.

The league will hold tournaments in November and May. The current three teams are composed of all-star cricket players from O'ahu and Maui — the Master Batters, Spitting Cobras and Terminators.

The style of 20/20 cricket was developed in the past decade. Unlike five-day test cricket or even the limited over matches which take up to eight hours to complete, 20/20 cricket completes a match in just three hours.

The matches, at Kapi'olani Park, on Sunday are: Terminators versus the Master Batters, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the Master Batters versus the Spitting Cobras, 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

CABA HAWAI'I SETS COACHES' MEETING

The Continental Amateur Baseball Association of Hawai'i will be holding a coaches' informational meeting on Nov. 13 at Kilauea Park in the meeting room from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The meeting is open to individuals, intact teams and travel teams for the 2009 season.

Team registration is still being accepted for Bigs (ages 13 to 15); AAA (11 to 12); AA (9 to 10); and A (7-8).
