Residents can bring their unwanted gold, silver or platinum jewelry to the Wedding Ring Shop from Monday to Nov. 9 and donate all or a portion of their value to the Honolulu Symphony.

The Wedding Ring Shop, whose flagship store is located at 1181 Kapi'olani Blvd, will also match 20 percent of the total in donations made to the symphony.

"During this time of economic uncertainty when many important education and community programs are in jeopardy, nonprofits such as the symphony are particularly thankful for organizations such as the Wedding Ring Shop and their generosity in hosting this innovative fundraising opportunity," said Tom Gulick, executive director of the symphony.
