CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The father of reigning national player of the year Tyler Hansbrough says it's unclear if the North Carolina star will miss any regular-season games because of a leg injury.
Gene Hansbrough told The Associated Press on Friday that his son had felt pain in his right shin off and on for a few weeks before going to the team's medical staff. The team said Hansbrough will be out of practice indefinitely with a stress reaction, which can be a precursor to a fracture without proper rest.
Gene Hansbrough said further tests revealed no new information, adding it's better the injury happened now than late in the season.
