The Kooks play for Jay Leno, then for Honolulu

Advertiser Staff

British rock band The Kooks will be performing on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno tonight at 11:30 p.m. on NBC .

The Kooks first rocked the British charts with their debut album "Inside In/Inside Out" in 2006 before crossing the pond last year to gain popularity and critical acclaim in the United States.

The four-piece band is in California for a few concerts as part of an extensive U.S. tour, which includes a date in Honolulu Friday night at Pipeline Café. The Honolulu concert is the band's last U.S. show before they launch a tour of Japan.

"Konk," the Kooks' sophomore album, was released April 15 in the U.S., debuting at No. 41 on the Billboard charts, and in the top 10 on the iTunes charts. The video for the first single, "Always Where I Need To Be" has been added to rotation at VH1, MTV2, MTVU and Fuse, and has been viewed close to 4 million times on YouTube.

The Kooks concert is scheduled for 8 p.m. Halloween night at Pipeline Café. Tickets are $25 and are available at all Ticketmaster locations, online at www.ticketmaster.com and by calling 888-750-4400.
