A 37-year-old Lihu'e man was injured yesterday in a motorcycle accident on Kaumuali'i Highway approaching Halfway Bridge at 1:20 p.m.

The man was listed in fair condition at Wilcox Hospital, county officials said. The accident slowed traffic flow in the area for about an hour.

Police said the motorcyclist was heading west when he braked suddenly to avoid rear-ending a pickup truck. The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown off when the motorcycle flipped over.
