Father, 3 sons rescued on Big Island hunting trip

A father and his three sons were rescued yesterday morning by the Big Island Fire Department's Rescue 1 helicopter crew after they were reported overdue from a hunting trip.
The family was supposed to return from its trip at 4 p.m. Sunday. None had cell phones, according to fire department officials.
The rescue team was called to the search at 9:50 Sunday night.
Helicopter personnel spotted the family at 7:43 yesterday morning about 2.5 miles in on Flume Road. A rescue team, using a net, then lifted them to safety.
None of the missing hunters required medical treatment.
