Kaimuki town celebrates the best the area has to offer at the second annual Celebrate Kaimuki Kanikapila, left. This year's festival will close down Wai'alae Avenue from 11th to Koko Head avenues, and feature more than 120 booths with food, entertainment and crafts.

Duane Padilla on violin, Pierre Grill on accordion and piano, Sonny Silva on guitar and David Chiorini on contrabass … it's the Hot Club of Hulaville, left, back for another concert of gypsy jazz, but this time it's a tribute to George Gershwin in a concert titled "An American in Paris." Vocalist Ginai, trumpeter DeShannon Higa and other guests also are part of the show. Hot Club of Hulaville last played a sold-out concert at the Doris Duke Theatre in August.

After an eight-month break, The Hell Caminos are back in town. The psychobilly punk rock band headlines Anna Bannana's "Punks vs. Psychos" show, which also features local bands The 86 List, White Rose, Guttercats and guests The Pacific Roller Derby and Cherry Blossom Cabaret. It's an all-ages show.

Hawai'i Pacific University opens its 2008-09 theater season with "Rabbit Hole," winner of the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for drama. The play focuses on a couple, Becca and Howie, trying to cope with a terrible loss while Becca's family attempts to lift their spirits and bring the couple closer. Below: Jim Aina as Howie, Leslie Duval as Becca, Virginia Jones as Nat, Becca's mother. The play is recommended for mature audiences.

California's Damage Inc., below, is set to rock the island with a Metallica tribute concert. Damage Inc.'s lineup consists of Aaron Pearson, Stephen Goodwin, KK and Larry Howe. Black Prizm will open, introducing the release of its debut album, "The Beast."

Hawai'i Theatre gets funny with physical comedian Dan Kamin, right, in "Comedy in Motion." Kamin, who created the physical comedy sequences in the films "Chaplin" for Robert Downey Jr. and "Benny and Joon" for Johnny Depp, presents movement illusions, sleight-of-hand and more.
