Traditional dance groups from Aceh, Indonesia — the all-male Sanggar Seni Seulaweuet and all-female Sanggar Al Wardah — will be showcased at the East-West Center. Acehnese dancers sing and play hand drums as they move in perfect unison.

Honolulu newspaper, magazine, radio and television staffers take to the stage to present "Gridiron 2008: Predatory Pricing," a popular show with politicos and media watchers. The show tends to skewer the news and newsmakers through song and dance — yes, that's why it's so popular! New this year: a matinee. Proceeds go to the Society of Professional Journalists' Hawai'i chapter to fund student internships and scholarships.

New Zealand band Te Vaka, below, returns with its fusion of reggae, roots, and traditional and contemporary Polynesian sounds for a tour of the Islands. The 10-member group is no stranger to Isle music fans; it last performed at the Waikiki Shell in 2005.

Veteran punk band Guttermouth, below, rocks this way for three shows. The boys perform twice at Anna Bannana's (once for the 21-and-older crowd, once for all ages) as well as another show at Shooters in Hilo. The band's current lineup consists of Mark Adkins, Dave Luckett, Clint Weinrich, Kevin Clark, Ryan Farrell and the single-named Hunter. Longtime guitarist Scott Sheldon left the band in June.

Kumu hula Manu Boyd's Halau o ke A'ali'i Ku Makani, below, celebrates its 11th anniversary with Hawaiian music and hula at 'Aha Mele XI, "Uluwehiwehi." Joining in the festivities will be Ho'okena, Robert Cazimero, Kawika Trask and Friends, Halau Na Kamalei, Amy Hanaiali'i and more.

Get spooked in the Downtown Arts District at the Hallowbaloo Music+Arts Festival. As if the shenanigans on Halloween couldn't get any kook-ier, the boys from BAMP Project are putting on a Hipster Halloween featuring The Kooks. The alternative indie band based in Britain released its latest album "Konk," earlier this year to rave reviews.

Treat Street, below, returns to haunt the Bishop Museum, but in that family-friendly way. Youngsters are invited to dress up and trick-or-treat for candy and prizes along a make-believe neighborhood street created by architecture students from University of Hawai'i-Manoa. There are costume contests, games and other activities, too.
