RENO, Nev. — Trailing by seven with 28 seconds remaining, Nevada was on the verge of forcing another overtime thriller against Boise State.

But the ninth-ranked Broncos, who held the nation's best rushing attack to just 31 yards in the first half, did just enough, knocking down a pass in the end zone as time expired to remain undefeated with a 41-34 victory over the Wolf Pack.

"I knew it would be a tight game," Boise State coach Chris Petersen said. "I knew they would make a run, especially if we turned the ball over."

Freshman Kellen Moore passed for 414 yards and three touchdowns, including 319 yards by halftime when the Broncos led 24-3, but threw three interceptions in the third quarter to let Nevada back in the game.

"Our defense was able to keep us in the game. They kept making plays when we needed them," Moore said.

Ian Johnson broke off a 66-yard touchdown run in the third quarter for Boise State, which clinched its sixth WAC title in seven years. The Broncos (10-0, 7-0 WAC) close the regular season Friday at home against Fresno State.

Colin Kaepernick passed for 241 yards and a touchdown and ran for 70 yards for Nevada (6-5, 4-3 WAC), which got the ball back with 1:34 to play and moved to Boise's 26 on Kaepernick's 28-yard pass to Chris Wellington with 28 seconds remaining. But a delay-of-game penalty pushed the Wolf Pack back, Kaepernick's next three passes fell incomplete and on fourth-and-13, Brandyn Thompson and Kyle Wilson knocked down Kaepernick's throw to Marko Mitchell in the end zone.

PULLMAN, Wash. — Nico Grasu kicked a 28-yard field goal on the final play of regulation to force overtime, then hit from 37 yards in the second overtime as the Cougars (2-10, 1-8 Pac-10) retained the Apple Cup and kept the Huskies (0-11, 0-8) the only winless team in the country.

Ryan Perkins kicked a 22-yard field goal for Washington to send the game to a second overtime, but then was wide right with a 37-yard attempt, giving Grasu, who nailed a 19-yarder in the first OT, a shot.

E. WASHINGTON 33, WEBER STATE 26

OGDEN, Utah — Matt Nichols threw for 242 yards and two touchdowns, both to Aaron Boyce, as the Eagles (6-5, 5-4 Big Sky Conference) upset the Wildcats (9-3, 7-1), who will share the league title with Montana. Since WSU defeated Montana earlier in the season the Wildcats get the league's automatic spot in the FCS playoffs.

WSU quarterback Cameron Higgins, a Saint Louis alum from Hawai'i, threw for 312 yards and four interceptions. Trevyn Smith scored the four Weber State touchdowns.

Louisiana Tech 35, New Mexico State 31: After Chris Williams caught a 34-yard TD pass from Chase Holbrook to put New Mexico State up 31-28 with 10:44 to play, Ross Jenkins hit Phillip Livas with a 68-yard scoring pass with 3:52 left as the Bulldogs (7-4, 5-2 Western Athletic Conference) beat the Aggies (3-8, 1-6) at Las Cruces, N.M.

Williams' TD was the 32nd of his career and broke the previous NMSU record held by Lucious Davis. Holbrook went 45-for-60 for a season-high 486 yards.
