Hospice events planned through November

November is National Hospice and Palliative Care Month, a time during which providers across the country work to educate the public about care options for those living with serious and/or life-limiting illnesses.

The following events are planned throughout the state:

ON OAHU

• "A Rose for Remembrance" Interdenominational Memorial Service for family and friends of patients served on the St. Francis Hospice program; 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14 at St. Theresa Church. More info: Felicia at 808-547-8145

• "Caring for Yourself and Others During the Grief Journey," free workshop for donor families (survivors of organ and tissue donors); 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov.15 at St. Andrew's Cathedral Church. RSVP to the Organ Donor Center of Hawaii at 808-599-7630

• St. Francis Hospice presents "Gifts of Grief" film with Nancee Sobonya,

ON MAUII

• "Holidays, Grief, and the Art of Coping," a holiday grief workshop,

BIG ISLAND

• Light on Death: The Spiritual Art of Dying - Book Discussion with Philip Jones
