When it comes his precious moments coinciding with Pigskin Picks success, Jimmy Nakasone always seems to experience double happiness.

In 2005, Nakasone got married in November. A few weeks later, he won Pigskin Picks.

On Saturday, Nakasone welcomed the birth of daughter Jaylen. The next day, he won Pigskin Picks.

"Gotta have a baby to win another one," he joked.

Nakasone correctly picked 14 of 15 winners, with his only mistake being the Hawai'i-Utah State game. In another coincidence, Utah State was the UH home game he missed attending when he got married in 2005.

So how come he didn't win when his first child Jaycie was born two years ago? "We were trying," said Nakasone, who, along with his wife Jodi, has played Pigskin Picks for at least the past seven years.

The 39-year-old accountant from Kalani High wins a trip for two to Las Vegas and $500.

His strategy is the same now as it was then: Pick against his favorite teams, which are the Texas Longhorns, Dallas Cowboys and the Warriors.

He did pick against the Texas teams, both of whom lost.

"I guess either way, I'm happy," he said. "I would actually rather lose the Pigskin Picks and have Texas win the game."
