Is Jesus really your priority?
By Russell Stephen Pang
"Ponder the path of thy feet and let all thy ways be established."
— Proverbs 4:26 (King James Version)
When was the last time we pondered our relationship with Jesus?
"Ponder?" some say.
In our fast-paced, multi-tasking society, is there time to ponder?
Remember the last time you looked at a flower in a garden?
Perhaps we saw the flower, its shape, but did we really look at it?
Maybe, some of us even remember the flower's color or its name. But did we consider the life within the flower?
What about people?
Do we glance at people the same way we look at a flower?
Are people merely faces you pass by or say "hi" to?
Perhaps, sometimes, we engage in small talk.
When was the last time your conversation touched the depth of someone?
How is your relationship with Jesus? Dare you ponder and upset misplaced priorities?
"Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness," Jesus says.
Yet many people strive to live the world's way.
Ponder the path of thy feet.
Do we live like there will always be tomorrow?
What if you knew in advance, you only had seven days to live?
Who would be important to you?
What would be important to you?
What would you do?
What would you say?
Paul shared his relationship with Jesus: "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live: yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."
— Galatians 2:20
Will you make time to ponder your relationship with Jesus?
