The state Health Department has posted warning signs at Maunalua Bay Beach Park in Hawai'i Kai following a wastewater spill today.
Officials with the department's Clean Water Branch say an estimated 200 gallons of wastewater entered a storm drain that leads to the bay, but it was unclear if the sewage reached the ocean.
The public has been advised to stay out of the bay until water tests are completed, officials said.
The wastewater overflowed from a private facility serving the the Hawaii Kai community, state officials said.
