Kolekole Pass, a military-only access road, will remain closed through tomorrow due to a rockslide on the Lualualei side of the passage.

Navy environmental public affairs officer Grace Hew Len said today that Navy assessment team removed basketball-size rocks. Falling rocks combined with the rainy conditions have created waterfalls in some areas on the Navy side of pass, Hew Len said.

The pass will not be reopened until the conditions are determined to be safe, Hew Len said.

Police, meanwhile, reported no serious traffic problems on Honolulu's major roadways at the start of today's afternoon rush-hour period.
