Bioenergy master plan meetings kick off tomorrow

The state's effort to develop a renewable biofuels program as the state tries to boost its energy self sufficiency will kick off tomorrow at the State Capitol Auditorium.
The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. and is open to the public. The state is trying to develop a program for biofuels, including how it should go about encouraging research development testing and deployment of renewable biofuels technologies and the production of biomass crops.
The meeting will look at trends and projections as well as what biomass can be grown in Hawai'i, along with related issues, including land, water, crops and conversion technologies. The meeting is scheduled to end at 4:30 p.m.
