Club needs volunteers for May 25 beach cleanup
Hui Nalu Canoe Club — one of the oldest canoe clubs in the state — is appealing for volunteers to help with its May 25 cleanup project at Nanakuli Beach Park.
The club is commemorating its 100th anniversary with a paddle around O'ahu over the Memorial Day weekend.
The centennial paddle will honor the canoe 'ohana, and is intended to perpetuate the club's vision and mission.
At each stop, the club will host a service project. But volunteers are especially needed for the Nanakuli beach and park cleanup on the 25th.
The event will run from 9 to 11 a.m.
Gloves, bags and refreshments will be provided. Wear comfortable shoes, hat and sunscreen. Bring water.
