A 19-year-old man escaped serious injury yesterday when a car drove into his bedroom on 'Ainapo Street in Haha'ione Valley.

A 90-year-old woman who was driving the car may have inadvertently stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake, said a man who lives in the house.

The man said he and his son were home when he heard a booming sound. He ran downstairs and saw a car inside his son's ground-floor bedroom. He said his son, who had been alseep, was pinned between his bed and a wall.

The 19-year-old was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in serious condition, but later allowed to go home.
