Get jazzed up for the Hawaii Pet Expo

"Pets Jazz Up Your Life" is the theme of the Hawaii Pet Expo, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and tomorrow at the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall.

Educational displays; dog, cat, bird and fish clubs; nonprofit groups; many pet products and services; crafters; and more treats than Buddy can bark at will be part of the expo.

Among the scheduled activities today:

10:15 a.m.: Dog fashion show by Bark Avenue

10:45 a.m.: Obedience dog rally by the Siberian Husky Club of Hawaii

11:45 a.m.: Sirius Puppy Training demo

1:45 p.m.: West Oahu Kennel Club Parade of Breeds

Tomorrow's events include:

10:30 a.m.: Dog agility demo by the Hawaiian Agility Handlers Association

Noon: Hawaiian Kennel Club Puppy Match

There's free pet care advice at the Ask-A-Vet booth all day each day; and a petting zoo by Nozawa's Ark all day tomorrow. Admission is free, but attendees are encouraged to bring nonperishable donations for Hawaii Foodbank. Pets are welcome, too: Dogs must be leashed and under their owners' control. 845-1762.
