Judiciary to hold info session on credit, bankruptcy

The Hawai'i State Judiciary is sponsoring a free informational session, Credit and Bankruptcy, from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2008, in the Supreme Court Conference Room, 417 S. King St.

Attorneys Walter Davison and Ted Pettit will help participants understand their legal rights and responsibilities as debtors, describe how to respond to creditors, suggest options for dealing with problem debt and provide other details concerning credit and bankruptcy.

Davison is a partner in the law firm of Goodsill Anderson Quinn & Stifel, where he concentrates his practice in the area of bankruptcy law. He received his law degree from Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California.

Pettit is with the law firm of Case Lombardi & Pettit, where he focuses his practice in the areas of bankruptcy, collections, and business reorganization. He received his law degree from the William S. Richardson School of Law, University of Hawai'i.

The Lunch 'n' Learn the Law program is a series of free informational seminars for the general public featuring topics relating to specific areas of the law and the courts. Volunteer presenters include judges, attorneys, court officials, and other subject-matter experts.
