UH pitcher Alexander won't make road trip

Hawai'i pitcher Jared Alexander will not be accompanying the team to New Mexico State, UH coach Mike Trapasso said.
Trapasso said today the right-hander is better off doing rehabilitation on his right elbow at home rather than on the trip.
"He threw a couple of pitches pain free today, but there were a couple he had some discomfort," Trapasso said.
Alexander could also be rested during the Utah Valley State series here next week because it is a nonconference and give him additional rest and rehab time for the WAC tournament May 22 to 25 in Ruston, La.
Alexander felt pain after five-plus innings in his start against Sacramento State last Friday. His magnetic resonance imaging showed no ligament tear.
