Preps: Kahuku, Radford win OIA track titles

MILILANI — The Radford High School boys track and field team edged Mililani, 83-82, for tonight's O'ahu Interscholastic Association championship at John Kauinana Stadium.

The Rams won the 4x400-meter relay in a time 3 minutes, 29.95 seconds while Mililani was second in 3:30.98. The win helped the Rams hold off the Trojans.

It's Radford's 17th OIA title, but first since 1996.

Kahuku jumped and threw its way to its first-ever girls title with a bulk of its 86 points coming early in the meet's field events. Radford was second with 55 and Mililani was third with 51.

Freshman Zhane Santiago won Kahuku's only events in the girls triple jump, 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles.
