Ocean Safety lifeguards found more than 400 box jellyfish in Waikiki today and lifeguards treated 52 people for stings as of 3 p.m., said Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for Emergency Services.

No jellyfish were reported on the west side of O'ahu, Cheplic said.

The monthly influx is at its peak today and oceangoers, particularly on south and west beaches, are advised to use caution if entering the water. If you have an allergic reaction to jellyfish or man-o-war stings, it is best not to go in the water.

The jellyfish warning will continue through tomorrow.

Ocean Safety has dedicated a new Web site to dealing with jellyfish stings, their arrival and other information.
