A 28-year-old man was reportedly assaulted near the Honolulu Zoo.

Emergency medical services responded to the assault around 12:30 a.m. at the corner of Kalakaua and Kapahulu Avenues. The man reported being punched several times in the face and then passing out. He was taken to The Queen's Medical Center.
