TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"Medium," 9 p.m., NBC. Allison dreams about women held captive — then finds a surprising connection to Cynthia Keener (Anjelica Huston). Things are never easy, of course. There's a blend between an old case and a new one, between fact and dream. This intriguing two-parter concludes next week.

"Frontline: Bush's War," 9 p.m., PBS. After the Sept. 11 attacks, this documentary says, opposite styles fought for President Bush's attention. There was the quiet approach of Dick Cheney or Colin Powell. There was the commotion of Donald Rumsfeld or Gen. Tommy Franks. "He drinks maybe 15 cups of coffee a day, smokes two packs of cigarettes ... he's running on adrenalin and caffeine and nicotine," Gen. Michael DeLong says of Franks. This richly detailed film traces the internal battles. Tomorrow's conclusion starts with the attack on Iraq.

OF NOTE

"Dancing With the Stars," 7 p.m., ABC. All 12 duos perform and viewers get their first vote; tomorrow, two celebrities will be gone.

"House," 7 p.m., Fox. In a late move, Fox switched two shows: New "Canterbury's Law" episodes are in a tough Friday slot; "House" reruns move to Mondays. Tonight, Dr. House treats an autistic boy who screams inexplicably.

"Big Bang Theory," 7 p.m., CBS. It's a no-rerun night on the four big networks. For CBS, that starts with Leonard's lie creating big trouble.

"How I Met Your Mother," 7:30 p.m., CBS. Britney Spears plays the receptionist of the dermatologist (Sarah Chalke) Ted wants to date.

"Two and a Half Men," 8 p.m., CBS. Rose returns, giving odd care to an ill Charlie.

"New Amsterdam," 8 p.m., Fox. While working on a disturbing case about a homeless man, John recalls his own addictions in 1964.

"High School Confidential," 7 p.m., WE. This week's episode is a fascinating (and sometimes heartbreaking) four-year ride with Jessi, an aspiring actress who is outgoing, likable and fragile.
