University of Hawai'i diver Emma Friesen was named one of the three NCAA Divers of the Year along with Ohio State's Chelsea Davis and Miami's Brittany Viola.

Friesen, of North Vancouver, British Columbia, won the NCAA championship in the 1-meter springboard Thursday and placed sixth in the 3-meter Friday. She is the first UH diver to receive the NCAA Diver of the Year honor.

Davis won the NCAA 3-meter springboard, while Viola won the platform event.
