A 37-year-old Lihu'e woman is in good condition at Wilcox Hospital on Kaua'i today after being attacked by four American Pit Bulls last night.

The woman was playing in her front yard with her boyfriend's five pit bulls at about 8:30 p.m. when four of the dogs became agitated and attacked her, police said. The dogs also turned on the woman's 45-year-old boyfriend when he tried to help her.

The pit bulls were brought under control with the assistance of a neighbor, who shot them with water from a garden hose.

The dogs involved in the attack have been turned over to the Kaua'i Humane Society.
