Advertiser Staff
A 75-year-old woman was punched and fell to the ground when a man stole her car yesterday morning from a residential driveway in Mililani.
The attack occurred about 6 a.m. just as the woman arrived at the 'Alohilani Street home of her son to take her grandchildren to school. Her son, Darryl Yata, said the attacker dragged his mother from the car and hit her in the eye. Yata said his mother also suffered bruises to her knee and elbow.
The man made off with the woman's purse when he drove away in her 1994 silver Toyota Camry with the license plate number FSF 436.
The victim said she believes she saw the man Thursday morning, standing near her son's house, smoking a cigarette.

A 24-year-old 'Aiea man was held yesterday on $25,000 bail, charged with trying to use the Internet to lure an underage girl into having sex with him.
Police said Erik Kobayashi was arrested Wednesday in a Manoa parking lot where he went to meet the "girl," in reality a police officer.
The officer, posing as a 13-year-old girl, had communicated with Kobayashi in an Internet chat room several times since November, police said. Using an online screen name, Kobayashi said he wanted to meet the girl to engage in sex, police said.
Police watched Kobayashi several times earlier this year as he went to different locations in Manoa looking to meet the "girl" and finally arrested him in his black pickup truck near the Manoa Public Library.
