Jack Johnson, the North Shore's surfer-musician-filmmaker, has announced dates for a U.S. leg of his world tour in support of his No. 1 record, "Sleep Through Static." The tour launches June 13 in Noblesville, Ind. Ticket sales begin March 15. The tour will field a stable of supporting acts, including Hawai'i's Paula Fuga.

BARRYMORE GIVES $1M FOR HUNGER

CHICAGO — Drew Barrymore said yesterday she is donating $1 million to help fight hunger.

She made the announcement on "The Oprah Winfrey Show," saying she would give the money to the World Food Program, a U.N. body that delivers millions of tons of food aid to more than 70 million people in about 80 countries.

"I'm able to make this incredible donation — this has changed my life," she said on the program. "But I encourage everyone to give."

Barrymore, who serves as a World Food Program ambassador, later said that the $1 million is the largest donation she's made.

"By far," the 33-year-old actress said. "But nothing has ever felt so good."

CELEBRITY CHEF FAKED HIS RESUME

NEW YORK — After rising to culinary stardom preparing impossible meals on his Food Network series, Robert Irvine has met an obstacle his kitchen prowess couldn't overcome — an embellished resume.

The star of "Dinner: Impossible" has acknowledged fabricating some of the more fantastic parts of his resume, including having cooked for Britain's royal family and U.S. presidents.

After the revelations, the network announced it would not renew Irvine's contract, though it would air the remaining episodes of the current season, the series' fourth.

The Food Network said it might revisit its decision at the end of this season, but for now would begin searching for a new host for the series, which challenged Irvine to cook under arduous conditions.

Irvine, who is from England, first acknowledged the fabrications in a Feb. 17 story in the St. Petersburg (Fla.) Times.

FENCE BEEF GETS STEVE-O IN JAM

LOS ANGELES — Steve-O of "Jackass" fame was arrested for investigation of vandalism and possession of a controlled substance at his Hollywood home. Police arrested the 33-year-old co-star of MTV's prank-filled program early yesterday morning after a neighbor made a citizen's arrest following a dispute over a fence, Los Angeles police officer Ana Aguirre said.

Steve-O, born Stephen Glover, was booked at a Hollywood police station on suspicion of vandalism and an outstanding traffic warrant, Aguirre said. He was also booked for investigation of possessing a controlled substance for allegedly having a small quantity of drugs on him, Aguirre said.
