Tasers might be approved for DLNR officers

Department of Land and Natural Resources Conservation and Resources enforcement officers are a step closer to being allowed to carry electronic guns under a bill that passed the state House of Representatives today.
The officers, who often patrol alone in remote areas, would be allowed to carry electronic, or Taser, guns only after receiving accreditation or recognition from a nationally recognized law enforcement or accreditation program.
The bill will now cross over to the Senate for consideration.
