Jack Johnson, North Shore's surfer-singer-composer-filmmaker, today announced the U.S. leg of his world tour in support of his No. 1 record, "Sleep Through Static." The tour launches this summer.
The first 23 dates have been announced, with the launch June 13, in Noblesville, Ind. Tickets for most concerts will be available, starting March 15, through Ticketmaster outlets and via www.jackjohnsonmusic.com.
The tour will field a stable of supporting acts, including Hawai'i's Paula Fuga.
Prior to the tour, Johnson stages his fifth annual Kokua Festival, April 19-20 at Waikiki Shell, featuring founder Jack Johnson, Dave Matthews (with guitarist Tim Reynolds), Paula Fuga, Go Jimmy Go and Mason Jennings. Music begins at 4 p.m. (doors open at 2:30 p.m.) but the event is a virtual sellout.
For his tour, Johnson is committed to greening all aspects of his production to minimize environmental impact, using biodiesel fuel to eco-friendly merchandising. He also is launching All At Once, in partnership with nonprofits worldwide, with an aim to empower fans to take action toward a healthier community and planet.
