Hula Kahiko in the Park: Volcano Art Center's popular Na Mea Hawai'i hula kahiko (traditional hula) performance series continues with its second presentation of the year. Islands of Life in the Pacific: The National Parks of Hawai'i: This Elderhostel program visits Hawai'i's National Parks, historical sites, National Wildlife Refuges, and state parks on the Big Island, Maui, Moloka'i, Kaua'i, and O'ahu. The program explores the richness of Hawai'i's people and places, flora and fauna, past and present on an educational and fun adventure. March 18-April 2. Spring Art Camp: Visual & Performing Arts for Youth (ages 8-12). Artist-educators guide young artists through art activities including drawing, painting, mixed media, singing, dancing and drama. Aqua renovation: Aqua Hotels & Resorts announced that Aqua Coconut Plaza is now closed for renovations. Work at the 81-room hotel includes a total makeover and upgrade of the guest rooms and lobby. Retro-inspired guest rooms will be updated with new carpet, furniture and soft goods. Amenities include mini-refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, 40-inch LCD HD TVs and wireless Internet. The lobby, breakfast area and front office will sport new tile flooring and furniture. The hotel will reopen June 1 as the Coconut Waikiki Hotel and be upgraded to the Aqua Boutique Collection, offering free daily continental breakfast, local newspaper, and local and toll-free calls.
Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa's March Ballroom Night events begin tonight. DJ Tiger will provide a free dance class from 6:30-7 p.m. to all guests. There is no cover charge but a two-drink minimum per person is applied. Tonight's lesson will be salsa; March 9, Night Club 2-step; March 16, tango; March 23, waltz; and March 30 will be West Coast swing.
