Delbert Tengan resigns as Saint Louis football, basketball coach

Saint Louis School announced this afternoon that Delbert Tengan has decided to step down as head coach for both the Crusaders football and basketball teams.
"The decision not to return as a head coach was an extremely difficult process for me," Tengan said through a school press release.
The release added that "Saint Louis appreciates the years of service Tengan has given to the athletic department in the roles of assistant and head coaching positions ...
"We appreciate all the positive contributions Coach Tengan has made to the hundreds of young men who have grown through their athletic experience here at Saint Louis," said school president Walter Kirimitsu.
Tengan will stay on at Saint Louis as a P.E. teacher; he has been with the school for 25 years.
The release said the "administration and athletic department are in the process of finding a suitable replacement for the football and basketball head coaching positions to ensure a smooth transition and do what is best for the student athletes and the school."
