The driver of a vehicle which struck an elderly male pedestrian last July in Mo'ili'ili was granted a deferred acceptance of no contest plea last week over the objections of prosecutors.

Justin Yi-Da Tsai, 24, of Kahala was booked today for second-degree negligent injury as a formality at the main police station.

The July 22, 2007 accident at Isenberg and South Beretania streets involved injuries to an 81-year-old man struck in a crosswalk.
