Lyon Arboretum opens renovated visitor center
The Lyon Arboretum visitor center has reopened after a two-year renovation project.
The center reopened June 14, after a formal blessing ceremony by Kahu Kaleo Patterson.
The renovation updated plumbing and electrical wiring and made the center more accessible to visitors with disabilities. The work was the initial phase of a $3.1 million project to upgrade facilities at the arboretum and come up with design plans for additional buildings.
Some 34,000 people a year visit Lyon Arboretum in Manoa.
