24,000 in Hawaii missing out on stimulus checks

The Internal Revenue Service says that more than 24,000 Hawaii residents will not get their economic stimulus check because they have not filed the appropriate paperwork.
People who do not normally file tax returns, such as disabled veterans and seniors living off of Social Security, are qualified for the rebate check.
The deadline is Oct. 15.
U.S. Sen. Daniel Akaka says people can file a simple tax return form at veterans centers, senior homes and support groups such as the AARP.
Rebate payments are $300 for individuals and $600 for married couples
