Trade wind weather should last the weekend

Light trade winds will continue into early next week, the National Weather Service said.

Showers carried by the trades will favor mainly the windward and mauka areas of the islands, forecasters said.

Here's how the next few days are shaping up:

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. East wind between 7 and 9 mph.

Tonight: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. East wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. East wind around 11 mph.

Sunday Night: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 71. East wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 87. East wind around 9 mph.

Monday Night: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 72. East wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
