The Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific has received a $25,000 grant from the Longs Benefit Golf Classic to purchase a van to help patients get around their communities.

The van will take patients to markets and banks or to run other errands.

It will also pick up and drop off patients at their homes.

The van will be modified to transport patients in wheelchairs and those who use walkers.

Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific serves about 8,000 patients a year who are recovering from strokes and brain, spinal cord and other serious injuries.
