bebe, the on-trend womenswear chain, has opened a flagship store in the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center. In a nod to the significance of Honolulu to its national retail operations, Manny Mashouf, the founder and CEO of bebe Stores Inc., came to Honolulu for the opening — as did 15 colorful new designs, sold exclusively at the Royal Hawaiian Center location.

Mashouf, a native of Tehran, Iran, started in 1971 with a small San Francisco boutique. There are now 208 bebe stores, 23 bebe outlet stores, 63 bebe Sport stores and one bebe accessories store.

KISA KOSMOS FASHION SHOW

First Friday takes a fashionable turn from 6 to 9 tonight at 808 Real Estate, 1145 Bethel St.
