The bone discovered during digging at a Waikiki construction site is ancient and not from a recent incident, the Honolulu medical examiner's office said.

The bone was found Saturday at a site undisclosed by police. The medical examiner's office, after having an archaeologist examine it, turned it over to the state Historic Preservation Division to determine if the bone is Hawaiian, the medical examiner's office said.
