MLB: Reds send Hairston to Louisville for rehab

HOUSTON — Cincinnati Reds infielder Jerry Hairston, Jr. was optioned to Triple-A Louisville today to begin a rehab assignment.
Hairston has been on the disabled list since July 17 with a strained right hamstring. He was hitting .351 with 15 stolen bases when he was injured running out a bunt in a game on July 13.
Hairston was scheduled to play five innings at shortstop in Louisville's game in Charlotte today.
