NORTH SHORE — Turtle Bay Resort and other North Shore businesses and residents will donate backpacks filled with school supplies to approximately 190 homeless and needy children in the North Shore area beginning at 10 a.m. Sunday at Hale'iwa Beach Park.

The event, named "Operation Backpack," is a joint effort spearheaded by the "Once a Month Church" a religious organization that meets on the last Sunday of every month at Hale'iwa Beach Park to provide services and food to the homeless and needy in the area.
