TOLEDO, Ohio — A driver died in a four-vehicle accident at Toledo Speedway that sent the rear of his car slamming into a wall at about 110 mph.
Terry Gibson, a 46-year-old from LaRue, Ohio, died at the scene on Friday night, according to the Lucas County coroner's office. It is the first death at the track since 2000.
Officials say the crash happened at about 7:45 p.m. during the third lap. Investigators say Gibson's car spun out.
Racing continued after the crash was cleaned up.
