PRAGUE, Czech Republic — Defending Olympic decathlon champion Roman Sebrle and world javelin champion Barbora Spotakova were chosen today to represent the Czech Republic at next month's Beijing Games.
The Czech Olympic committee said athletes who will meet selection criteria by July 23 can still make the squad.
Archer Milan Andreas was dropped from the squad after he tested positive for marijuana, committee spokesman Jan Martinek said.
The Czechs hope to equal their performance at the Athens Olympics in 2004, where they won one gold, three silver and four bronze medals.
