CHICAGO — Olympic qualifiers Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh won the AVP Crocs Slam Chicago Open today for their 16th consecutive tournament title.
They beat Elaine Youngs and Nicole Branagh 18-21, 21-17 and 21-14 — their 90th straight match victory. The duo has finished first in all 11 AVP Crocs tournaments since 2007.
"We know where each other is going to be and where we like the ball. We see the court well," Walsh said. "We're really in tune with each other. It's not all about hitting hard — it's about being smart."
